Renewing Our First Love

On Revival

Page 4

Christ wants our hearts, not for us to be plaster saints or ever-do-goody relics of dead or lukewarm faith. Christ calls for a renewal of our love. And, we will get no more of Christ than we are willing to cooperate with Grace to prepare our hearts to receive. As we expand our openness to receive God-Love, God pours more of Himself into us, through Christ, and by the agency of the Holy Spirit.

So, today, let us ask ourselves about our First Love. If need, let us confess we need our love rekindled. Let us recall the joy we once had in prayer, Bible Study, and quietness with our Husband. Let us fulfill our vows to give all our being to the One calling for a love true, persevering, and growing in a sacred, godly passion - a desire to have Him fully, serve Him only, and praise Him always. Then, our social holiness will be a mirror of our intimacy with the Head of the House, Christ. Amen.
